I Heart Christmas Markets

The tragic news of a truck plowing into a Christmas market in Berlin earlier this week really shook me. One of my favorite things about the holiday season in Europe is the Christmas market, and such horror during a joyous occasion is really saddening. My heart goes out to those affected by the tragedy in Berlin. I planned this post prior to Berlin and still wanted to share it to show how much fun and joy these markets bring.

Over the past couple of weeks I visited markets in Lille, France and Bruges, Belgium. Both were really fun, but the best market was right in our backyard in Utrecht, Netherlands. The markets are full of artisans selling all types of crafts, different food vendors, carolers, and of course glühwein. Mmm, glühwein. How I love that hot mulled wine!

Hope you enjoy my photos from this great holiday tradition!
